What is the student health fee?

The student health fee is a mandatory student fee, charged to all students enrolled in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Mānoa courses during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. The fee is used to support the overall operational costs of the University Health Services Mānoa (UHSM), and does not replace health insurance.

The health fee is collected by the Mānoa Cashier's Office as part of the tuition and fees.

What activities/services does the health fee support?

The fee helps subsidize a wide range of on-campus health and wellness services, including:

  • Medical Care: General medical clinic visits for illness and injury, and specialty clinics (Sexual Health, Sports Medicine, Dermatology, Nutrition, etc.).
  • Pharmacy & Lab: Access to an on-campus pharmacy for prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as diagnostic laboratory services.
  • Public Health: Vital campus-wide functions such as TB and immunization clearance, seasonal flu and other preventive vaccinations, and the monitoring and infection control of contagious diseases to ensure a healthy and safe campus environment.
  • Health Promotion: Campus-wide health promotion and wellness programs, alcohol and drug education (ADEP), and online health resources.
  • Mental Health Support: Comprehensive mental health care and developmental support provided through the Counseling and Student Development Center (CSDC).
