Overview
The Life Sciences Building is located on the upper campus of the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at Mānoa, in Honolulu, Hawaii. The building anchors the Diamond Head end of McCarthy Mall, housing the College of Natural Sciences Biology, Microbiology, and Botany departments, along with the Pacific Biosciences Research Center.
The three-story facility, which holds 21 state-of-the-art teaching and research laboratories, was built to serve more than 500 students daily and support world class research. The space also features an open courtyard that overlooks McCarthy Mall, a 600 square foot student collaboration area, 52 graduate student workstations, five conference rooms, 28 faculty offices, and a 3,000 square foot shell space to allow for future office expansion.

- use of low-emitting materials, increased outdoor air ventilation
- addition of occupant controls for lighting and thermal comfort
- maximization of daylight while limiting glare
