Osaki, Velarde named KTA Superstars of the Week

UH Hilo women’s tennis player Hikari Osaki and baseball player Eamon Velarde were named KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week, February 22–March 7.

Six UH Hilo men’s and women’s basketball players earned All-PacWest awards for the 2022–23 season.

UH Hilo women’s basketball player Mandi Kawaha and baseball player Bradyn Yoshida were named KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week, February 8–21.

The three student-athletes recognized were Erik Borg, Mandi Kawaha and Bree Olson.

UH Hilo men’s basketball player Nadjrick Peat was named PacWest Defender of the Week.

UH Hilo softball player Trinity Favela and baseball player Casey Yamauchi were named KTA Super Stores Superstars of the Week, January 25–February 7.

The Vulcans defeated Holy Names University, 82-68, to claim a spot in the six-team postseason conference tournament.

UH Hilo basketball player Mandi Kawaha became the program’s new all-time leading scorer.

The UH Hilo baseball team shut out 15th-ranked Augustana University, 4-0 on February 1.
