President Lassner also discussed some of the findings in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ College and Career Readiness Indicators Report.
President Lassner also congratulated Shannon Asejo who was awarded the President¡¯s Award for Excellence in Buildings and Grounds Maintenance.
President Lassner also covered extramural funding.
The BOR determined how the stakeholder advisory group for the search for the next president of the 10-campus system will be developed.
Lassner discussed that UH leadership is engaging with a third party to help evaluate the structure of the 10-campus system.
“I am personally pledging today $1 million to support graduate students working in [the] areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning or data science in service to the environment or humanity here in our islands.”
Lassner also explained UH¡¯s extensive involvement in the state¡¯s broadband initiative and announced two recently awarded federal grants
Lassner also provided the latest update on the SCR 201 Tenure Task Force and the impact of a possible federal government shutdown on the university.
Lassner announced his plan to retire in 2024 in a message to the UH Board of Regents on September 19.
