SLS PhD alumni Ann T. Choe (2023), Susanne DeVore (2022), and Yang (Sunnie) Liu (2023), as well as current PhD student Kristen Urada, have recently launched the beta version of . An acronym for “Great Online Activities for Language Learning,” the web app utilizes theory in Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to help intermediate and advanced adult learners of language by using everyday real-world scenarios. The app currently supports Mandarin Chinese only, with plans to add more languages in the future, as well as a mobile app.
