Congratulations to SLS Alumni Drs. Daniel Jackson and Rue Burch, who are featured as co-authors for the recently published TESOL Quarterly Special Issue, Complementary Perspectives on Task-Based Classroom Realities. The special issue also features other SLS alumni as authors.

Daniel O. Jackson is Associate Professor in the Department of English at Kanda University of International Studies, where he teaches undergraduate courses and graduate courses for the MA TESOL program. His research interests include task-based language teaching (TBLT), individual differences, and teacher cognition.

Alfred Rue Burch is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Languages and Intercultural Communications at Rice University. His interests include conversation analysis for second language acquisition (CA-SLA) and interactional competence, in particular focusing on how SLA topics such as motivation, communication strategies, and TBLT can be explored and re-specified using conversation analysis.
