
University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ law school student Joshua Faumuina has been appointed by Gov. Josh Green to the UH Board of Regents (BOR) for a two-year term as the board¡¯s student regent. Green made the announcement on June 28.
Faumuina earned an associate of science in natural science from in 2016, a bachelor of arts in classics from in 2022 and expects to receive his juris doctor from the UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ in 2026. He has supported several National Science Foundation and Title III grants at Kapiʻolani CC since February 2020.
“I¡¯m really excited,” said Faumuina. “I¡¯ve been a UH student for over a decade so I¡¯m excited to have a hand in changing some of the things that I¡¯ve noticed, and also being a vocal representation for students on the Board.”
Though the state Senate must confirm the appointment, Faumuina officially began serving his term on July 1.
