
Despite disruptions to on-campus student life due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ remains open and accessible to students in need of food.
A survey by Joannie Dobbs, assistant specialist in the , and her students, first raised the issue about student food insecurity on the UH Mānoa campus with (ASUH). As a result, ASUH, , and collaborated to create the three-year pilot program in 2019 to address food insecurity at UH Mānoa.The Food Vault has offered monthly “food drops” that have given away more than 6,000 pounds of food in just one day.
To maintain social distancing, distribution is now by appointment only. to make an appointment for pick-up. Students should bring their UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ student ID and their own bag.
