Federal and State regulations as well as the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Â require that all generators of hazardous waste receive mandatory initial training and annual refresher training. The purpose of the training is to provide waste generators with and University hazardous materials/waste policies and procedures. EHSO will not accept a request for disposal of excess hazardous materials or hazardous waste unless the Hazardous Waste Turn in Form is signed by a generator that has attended the initial training or a refresher training within the past year.
- Initial Hazardous Waste Generator Training is being held online. There are no in-person Initial Hazardous Waste Generator Training courses scheduled. Please fill out the Google form below to sign up for the online Initial Hazardous Waste Generator Training course. It may take 1-2 business days to process your request.
- You must be a Âé¶¹´«Ã½employee working on the Manoa campus or at a Manoa-based Off-Campus facility (UHCC Kaka’ako, HIMB, IFA, Kewalo Marine Lab, Lyon Arboretum, UHMC, Waikiki Aquarium) to receive the training link. ONLY Âé¶¹´«Ã½users with a Âé¶¹´«Ã½username will be able to access the EHSO online trainings in LamakÅ« beginning January 1, 2026. Laulima will no longer be available after midnight on December 31, 2025. All Âé¶¹´«Ã½employees, faculty, staff and students, should have a LamakÅ« account. If you were missed in the transition, you may request an account by completing the form here:
- If you are a NON-Âé¶¹´«Ã½USER, please continue to fill out the google registration form at the link below so we, EHSO, can begin the process of requesting you a LamakÅ« guest user account. We thank you for your patience during this LMS transition as it may take up to 4 days to process the guest accounts.Â
- For record-keeping purposes, please provide a copy of all your training documents to your PI or lab supervisor.
- We are unable to issue certificates at this time so please take a screenshot of your passing scores and training verificatons and keep all receipts received by email or otherwise until the system can be fine-tuned to prove and verify your training has been successfully completed.Â

MANOA-BASED OFF-CAMPUS FACILITIES: Annual refresher training for faculty, staff and students located at off-campus facilities (UHCC Kaka’ako, HIMB, IFA, Kewalo Marine Lab, Lyon Arboretum, UHMC, Waikiki Aquarium) will need to access online training via Laulima.
