Vulcan milestone: UH Hilo men’s soccer makes history with top 25 ranking

The Vulcans were the only team from the Pacific West Conference ranked in the top 25.

The Vulcans were named Team of the Week, Teani Arakawa was honored as Player of the Week and Phoebe Barnes earned Defender of the Week.

Vulcan Challenge 2024 will run through October 17, with the goal of raising $150,000 to support UH Hilo’s student-athletes.

Christian Souza now has seven career shutouts, No. 2 all-time in program history.

The new shop will feature officially licensed UH Hilo Vulcan merchandise customized for each participating athlete.

UH Hilo will return with 18 players, seven of those with starting experience.

The Vulcans are set to return eight players from the 2023 season.

UH Hilo Athletics posted its highest academic-year GPA with a combined mark of 3.28.

Nicholas Gomez, Junsu Im, Jordan Sato and Jacob Torres averaged under 78.0 and achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The Vulcans posted a 3.40 team grade point average.
