Vulcan women’s soccer player named PacWest Defender of the Week

Lolo Retsky earned the title after making five saves for a shut-out victory against Stanislaus State on September 10.

Sophie Augustin and Amber Gilbert were named Defensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week, respectively.

UH Hilo men’s soccer player Koki Hamada and women’s cross country runner Aurea Streadbeck received the award.

KTA Super Stores will match up to $1,000 towards each sports program, while the remaining balance will support the overall Vulcan Athletics Fund.

Fifth-year-senior transfer Grace VerHage earned the honor after scoring two goals in UH Hilo’s season opener.

Senior Caelan Miller placed first overall in the meet.
