University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹¡¯s sophomore quarterback Micah Alejado has been named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Walter Camp Player of the Year award, announced by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
Alejado is one of 50 players on the award watch list, which is composed of 41 offensive standouts—including 22 quarterbacks¡ªand nine defensive players, representing 38 schools and 11 conferences.
The Walter Camp Player of the Year watch list will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists in early November, and three finalists will be announced in early December. The 2026 winner will be announced live during the second week of December.
This nomination adds to a decorated summer of preseason accolades for Alejado. In July, he was selected as the Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year. Earlier this month, he was also named to the preseason watch list for the 90th Maxwell Award.
Alejado enters 2026 following a standout 2025 redshirt freshman campaign. In his first full season guiding the Rainbow Warriors, Alejado threw for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns over 11 games, establishing new single-season freshman records for both UH and the Mountain West Conference.
