This year¡¯s University of Â鶹´«Ã½ foodbank drive raised $42,183 in monetary donations and 4,652 pounds of food for 2025. According to the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foodbank, the university¡¯s contribution equals nearly 95,000 meals that the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foodbank is able to provide.
“Once again, our UH ʻohana demonstrated their generosity and concern for their community,” said UH President Wendy Hensel. “Every donation makes a difference, and I am proud to be a part of such a caring and compassionate community.”
The issue of hunger continues to be a major challenge facing the community, affecting those most vulnerable, and the impact of contributions to the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foodbank will not go unnoticed by those in need within the community.
The Â鶹´«Ã½ Foodbank campaign during the spring semester is one of two annual fundraisers approved for State of Hawai?i offices. The Aloha United Way fundraiser takes place during the fall semester.
