
Two University of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ at Mānoa tennis players Peppi Ramstedt and Azuma Visaya earned Big West Player of the Week honors, with Peppi Ramstedt earning her first Big West Player of the Week as a Rainbow Wahine on February 5 and Visaya securing his third.
Randstadt defeated Saint Mary (6-4, 6-1) and North Dakota’s (6-3, 6-1) top players, while pairing with Sheena Masuda for two 6-1 double victories.
Visaya¡¯s clutch three-set win clinched UH¡¯s first dual match victory under head coach Hendrik Bode. With the match against North Dakota tied 3-3, he edged out his opponent in a tiebreaker (6-2, 5-7, 7-6(4)) for his fourth straight singles win. He also helped secure the doubles point with a 6-4 win.
Visaya is now 5-3 in singles and 2-3 in doubles, recently climbing to No. 48 in the ITA rankings.
