University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at Hilo men¡¯s soccer goalkeeper Paul Waschkau was named Pacific West Conference Defender of the Week on October 28. Additionally, the Vulcans earned Team of the Week honors after going 2-0-1 in Southern California.
Making his fourth start of the season, Waschkau began the week with a six-save outing in a 2-1 win over Azusa Pacific University. The junior transfer posted a 2-0-1 record with a shutout and 10 total saves during the week.
UH Hilo had a stellar road trip to keep their postseason hopes alive. The Vulcans kicked off the trip with a thrilling 2-1 win over Azusa Pacific. Against Biola University on October 24, the Vulcans clinched a 2-0 win. At Westmont College, the Vulcans turned a potential loss into a tie.
