Senior Catherine Belyakov, from the University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹ , claimed Big West Athlete of the Week honors after her outstanding performance at the USC Invitational, October 12–13.
Belyakov made an immediate impact with the Rainbow Wahine, earning multiple top-10 times in program history. Belyakov posted the fourth-fastest time and finished in second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:17.97, and swam the sixth fastest time in the 200 IM with a mark of 2:00.78 finishing in third.
She also earned UH¡¯s first victory in individual competition this season, winning the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:02.17. In total, Belyakov earned top-three finishes in four individual events this past weekend.
