Hale Kuamoʻo, the Hawaiian language center within at the , has launched a new weekly video series called Moʻohua featuring a “Word of the Week.”
Each Wednesday, an ʻōlelo Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Hawaiian language) word is introduced along with its meaning and an example of the word being used in a sentence.

Hale Kuamoʻo decided to name the weekly series Moʻohua with the idea that it would feature various hua (words) with a connection to moʻolelo (story) and moʻomeheu (culture).
The first two introductory videos feature Kekailiko Medeiros, a 2022 UH Hilo graduate who earned a BA in and a certificate in ʻōlelo Âé¶¹´«Ã½, and Joe Lindsey, a and Hawaiian studies double major.
