University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at Hilo volleyball middle blocker Armani Moultrie and soccer defender Camille Strazzo have been named Vulcan Pepsi Athletes of the Week for October 14–20.
Senior Armani Moultrie smashed her way to a career-high 17 kills in a straight sets win over Fresno Pacific on Saturday night at Vulcan Gymnasium. Moultrie had just two errors on the night and added a block and three digs. In the game against Dominican, Moultrie added nine more kills, a solo block and three assisted blocks. The middle blocker helped the Vulcans to record ten straight wins.
Junior defender Camille Strazzo played a key role at both ends of the field as the Vulcans tied Domincan (0-0) and defeated Fresno Pacific (2-0). Strazzo and her defensive teammates didn’t allow the Penguins or Sunbirds to score in 200 total minutes of soccer. Strazzo also took a corner kick in the back of a pack of players, heading it into the goal against Fresno Pacific.
