The University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at Mānoa , a unit within the , will sponsor the symposium, Data Matters: New Insights on our Children and Youth, on March 31, 8–11:45 a.m. at the Waiʻalae Country Club.
The syposium will showcase and discuss new studies and data on children and youth in Â鶹´«Ã½. Offering important insights on our keiki, the event will feature studies by Â鶹´«Ã½ researchers using local data sets from early childhood through emerging adulthood.
The keynote address will be presented by Bill O’Hare, president of O’Hare Data and Demographic Services, LLC, and a former senior consultant at the , a private charitable organization dedicated to helping build better futures for disadvantaged children in the U.S. His talk will examine the undercounting of young children in the U.S. Census and the implications of the undercount.
