All 10 UH campuses will be closed Monday, August 17. The closure follows Gov. Josh Green¡¯s announcement that state, county offices and public schools will be closed Monday due to Hurricane/Tropical Storm Lala.

Beginning in the fall of 2015, Persian language will be offered as an online course for the first time at the . PERS 101 is designed for distance learning, attracting learners who do not have Persian instruction at their universities.

Persian is the official and national language of Iran, and standard Modern Persian is spoken in Tehran, the capital of Iran. Persian language belongs to the West Iranian language group, a subgrouping of Indo-Iranian languages, which is part of the Indo-European language family. The two dialects of Persian are Tajiki and Dari, which are spoken in Tajikistan and Afghanistan, respectively.
