Join the campus community in honoring Alice Augusta Ball, UH’s first Black graduate and pioneering scientist whose chaulmoogra tree discovery became the most effective treatment for Hansen’s disease in the early 20th century.
This year’s program also recognizes her designation as a National Historic Chemical Landmark by the American Chemical Society.
Guests are welcome to bring a flower or lei to place at the bronze plaque honoring Alice Ball.
