We are pleased to invite you to a short course that we are offering for .20 ASHA CEUs on Saturday, November 8, from 10:00am to 12:15pm. Please see the attached flyer, From Research to Practice: Working with Bilingual Children with Language Disorders in Cultural Contexts. The course will be presented by Laura Xiaoquian Guo, PhD, CCC-SLP. This short course will focus on the intersection of two populations: preschool-and school-aged children learning and using more than one language, and children diagnosed with language disorders. The course will present evidence-based methods for assessing language(s) in bilingual learners while honoring cultural contexts. Through examples and research evidence, participants will gain knowledge and competencies for service delivery to culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Please register with the link. For more information, please contact April Tungpalan at aaat@hawaii.edu / 808-692-1582.
