Kū i ka Ni?o: Helping Native Hawaiian Students Achieve Academic & Cultural Excellence

This grant allowed Leeward Community College

  1. to increase the number of Native Hawaiian students who enroll in a STEM related degree programs and
  2. to impact student success in STEM courses.

The completed activities include the renovation of two consultation rooms for private counseling, study space, and three classrooms; increases to Native Hawaiian support services; and faculty development to incorporate Hawaiian values into STEM course pedagogy.
