Bilinski Fellowships in Second Language Studies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p>The Bilinski Educational Foundation offers several types of award to qualified students in the PhD in Second Language Studies program at the University of Hawai&#8217;i at M\u0101noa. The purpose of the Bilinski Fellowships is to help PhD in SLS students complete outstanding dissertations in a timely manner and promote excellence and innovative perspectives in the field of Second Language Studies.<\/p>\n<p>Please feel free to view the video below to learn more about the fellowship from two of our own SLS PhD students as well as two from the Linguistics department.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-ixvTteUas0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h3>Bilinski Dissertation Fellowship<\/h3>\n<p>This fellowship provides support for PhD students who have recently advanced to candidacy. The purpose of the fellowship is to free students from teaching duties so that they may complete their dissertation in a timely fashion. The funds are to be used to pay education-related expenses and necessary living expenses.<\/p>\nAmount of award: $25,000 per semester<br \/>\nDuration of award: Up to three (3) semesters, with the possibility of extension to a fourth semester under exceptional circumstances\n<h3>Bilinski Pre-Dissertation Research Award<\/h3>\n<p>This award aims to support students in developing the research design for their dissertation in preparation of the dissertation proposal.<\/p>\nAmount of award: Up to $5,000 per award<br \/>\nDuration of award: One (1) semester (summer = one semester)\n<h3>Eligibility Criteria for All Award Categories<\/h3>\n1. Meet citizenship\/residency requirements.<br \/>\n2. Be a full-time PhD student in the Department of Second Language Studies at the University of Hawai&#8217;i at M\u0101noa.<br \/>\n3. Maintain good academic standing.<br \/>\n4. Have demonstrated exceptional ability and potential in their field of study.<br \/>\n5.
