Review of Established Programs
UH Regents Policy 5.201, Instructional Programs:
- requires a comprehensive review of all established programs at a minimum of once every seventh year at UH ²Ñ¨¡²Ô´Ç²¹, UH Hilo, and UH West O?ahu and a minimum of once every fifth year at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Community Colleges, unless otherwise stipulated by the Board.
- requires the University to provide the Board with an annual report on programs with a low number of degrees/certificates of achievement, a task which is carried out by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Strategy (OVPAS).
- requires the University to provide the Board with an annual report of program reviews (of established programs) conducted within the last year, a task which is carried out by the OVPAS.
- requires the University to provide the Board with an annual report on all terminated programs, a task which is carried out by the OVPAS.
additionally:
- charges the Chancellors of the four-year institutions and the Vice President for Community Colleges (for the UHCC campuses) to develop the program review procedures and schedules for their campuses.
- calls for each campus to archive its program reviews and furnish upon request.
- calls for the Office of the President to annually report stop-outs of established programs.

Hilo
Five-year review process with self-study, external review, and final reporting. Departments are reviewed on a rotating schedule.
West O?ahu
Seven-year review process with self-study, external review, and final reporting. Programs are reviewed on a rotating review schedule.
Community Colleges
Comprehensive review occurs every five years in alignment with that includes an annual reporting requirement via the .
