Vance Roley<\/strong> has been recommended to serve as interim dean for the <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa <a href=\"http:\/\/tim.hawaii.edu\">School of Travel Industry Management<\/a> (<abbr>TIM<\/abbr> School). Roley will be replacing Interim Dean <strong>Thomas Bingham<\/strong>, who will be going on sabbatical.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation by <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Provost <strong>Michael Bruno<\/strong> was approved by <abbr>UH<\/abbr> President <strong>David Lassner<\/strong>. Roley will assume the duties effective July 1, and work closely with Bruno and the <abbr>TIM<\/abbr> executive staff moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I want to thank Professor Roley for agreeing to take on these additional responsibilities,&rdquo; said Bruno.<\/p>\n<p>A proposed reorganization of Shidler College and the <abbr>TIM<\/abbr> School is scheduled to go before the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa faculty senate in fall 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>V.
