For the second year in a row, journalism students from the School of Communications in the College of Social Sciences<\/a> swept the student category in the statewide Society of Professional Journalists\u2019<\/a> Excellence in Journalism competition. In total, the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa students took home 23 awards, including 8 first-place honors. <\/p>\n

Students published the work in a variety of venues, including classroom channels, such as Hoʻa<\/span> Oʻahu<\/span><\/a> and UHMtv<\/a>; Ka Leo O Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/em><\/a>, the UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa campus newspaper; and various internships at professional media organizations in the state and nationally. <\/p>\n
