The proposal also includes decreases in the general graduate education tuition rates at <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa. The proposed, three-year tuition schedule goes before the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/offices\/bor\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> Board of Regents<\/a> at its May 16 meeting at <a href=\"https:\/\/windward.hawaii.edu\/\">Windward Community College<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/offices\/bor\/regular\/materials\/201905160945\/BOR_Meeting_of__05_16_19__Meeting_Materials___FOR_UPLOAD.pdf\">Board meeting materials (<small><abbr title=\"portable document format\">PDF<\/abbr><\/small>)<\/a> (see page 25)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proposed freeze in undergraduate tuition rates is intended to keep higher education accessible and affordable for the people of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>. The proposed schedule also includes decreases in resident and non-resident graduate school tuition rates that will increase the university\u2019s competitiveness in attracting graduate students. Providing stable tuition rates over a multi-year period in all categories will have a positive impact on student retention and recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>In fall 2019 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> will enter the third year of the current three-year tuition schedule that was approved by the Board of Regents in 2016.
