There are an estimated  23,000 universities in the world.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_94843\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-94843\" style=\"width: 214px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/manoa-rur-ranking-bruno-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-94843\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/manoa-rur-ranking-bruno-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/manoa-rur-ranking-bruno-93x130.jpg 93w, https:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/manoa-rur-ranking-bruno.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-94843\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Provost Michael Bruno<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&ldquo;When a student is considering which university to attend, in my view, the international rankings matter,&rdquo; said <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa Provost <strong>Michael Bruno<\/strong>. &ldquo;Those rankings are a reflection of the strength of a university&#8217;s faculty and the research that they perform, because that research is brought into the classroom and really enhances student learning.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The honor places <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa in the top tier &ldquo;Golden League&rdquo; in the areas of teaching (183), financial sustainability (193) and international diversity (167). The flagship of 10 <abbr>UH<\/abbr> campuses was also rated 298 in research worldwide, earning a &ldquo;Silver League&rdquo; ranking.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr>RUR<\/abbr> agency is a partnership with Clarivate Analytics.
