Two University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> student-athletes who played prominent roles in weekend sweeps of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific have been named the Pepsi Athletes of the Week.<\/p>\n

Kobie Russell<\/h2>\n

Russell\u2019s body of work earned a weekend sweep over Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific. The Waipahu native feasted on Shark pitching, going 7 for 17 in four games (.412) and had one RBI<\/abbr> in each of the four contests. The left-handed hitting third baseman homered, doubled and stole a base as the Vulcans won their eighth straight game improving to 18–15 this season.<\/p>\n

Rayla Jacobs-Kea<\/h2>\n

Sophomore center fielder Jacobs-Kea played a big role in UH<\/abbr> Hilo’s sweep of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific at home, helping the Vulcans vault past the Sharks into second place in the PacWest. In two games, Jacobs-Kea went 4 for 5, scored twice, drove in two runs and stole a pair of bases.<\/p>\n
