Albritton, Charles-Alan Castillo, Gary MacDonald, Jason Oshiro and Jonathan Wong.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Honolulu Community College will honor First Hawaiian Bank and five individuals for their professional achievements and contributions to the community at Celebrate! 2012.<\/p>\n<h2>2012 Distinguished Alumni<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jerome W. Albritton<\/strong> (<abbr>AS<\/abbr> &#8217;75 police science)<br \/>\nJerome Albritton retired from the Arlington Police Department after serving the Arlington, Texas community for 30 years and had the honor of being name Police Officer of the Year in 1992. Albritton continued on to his second career with the Fort Worth Marshal&#8217;s Office where he is currently a sergeant assigned to the City Hall School attendance court sections.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Charles-Alan Castillo<\/strong> (<abbr>AAS<\/abbr> &#8217;02 human services)<br \/>\nCharles-Allan L. Castillo is the assistant vice president in resource development for Aloha United Way. A life-long learner, he is pursuing a baccalaureate degree in social work at <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific University. A guest speaker for Honolulu&#8217;s human services program, Castillo also volunteered as a mentor for the Children&#8217;s Alliance of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> and served as a counselor with <abbr>AUW<\/abbr>&#8217;s Asthma Camp.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gary R. MacDonald<\/strong> (<abbr>AS<\/abbr> &#8217;70 automotive mechanics technology)<br \/>\nAn engineer for the Boeing Company, Gary MacDonald recently surpassed his 35-year anniversary with the company. He was accepted into Boeing&#8217;s Technical Fellowship, the youngest engineer to receive this honor within the flight deck design group. MacDonald also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, Washington State Science Olympiad and Honolulu&#8217;s High School to <abbr>HCC<\/abbr> recruitment event.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jason T. Oshiro<\/strong> (<abbr>AS<\/abbr> &#8217;94 commercial arts)<br \/>\nAfter receiving his degree from Honolulu, Jason Oshiro went on to graduate from the California College of Arts and worked as a graphic designer in Los Angeles and San Francisco before returning to <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. Oshiro is a publication specialist for <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.honolulu.hawaii.edu\/\">Honolulu <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a>. Known for his professionalism and design integrity, Oshiro has lent his talents to produce original work for Honolulu CC and the University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> System.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Jonathan K. Wong<\/strong> (<abbr>AA<\/abbr> &#8217;98 liberal arts)<br \/>\nAfter graduating from Honolulu <abbr>CC<\/abbr>, Jonathan Wong has received his <abbr>BA<\/abbr>, <abbr>MBA<\/abbr> and <abbr>MEd<\/abbr> from <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa, MS from <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Pacific University and is currently working toward his masters in public administration at <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M&#257;noa. Wong previously worked as the technology coordinator for the Native Hawaiian Center at <a href=\"http:\/\/www2.honolulu.hawaii.edu\/\">Honolulu <abbr>CC<\/abbr><\/a> and is currently the pathways learning support coordinator at <a href=\"http:\/\/kapiolani.hawaii.edu\/page\/home\"><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> Community College<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>2012 Outstanding Community Partner<\/h2>\n<p>First Hawaiian Bank has sponsored the <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> High School Auto Academy along with Honolulu Community College, the Cutter Automotive Group and various <abbr>DOE<\/abbr> high schools and Kamehameha Schools. Since the program&#8217;s inception in 2004, the bank has contributed more than $125,000 to cover the student&#8217;s cost of tuition, tools and supplies. The program is geared to high school students interested in the automotive industry and provides them with advanced automotive training and college credit towards an automotive technology degree.<\/p>\n<p>First Hawaiian Bank Foundation is the charitable arm of First Hawaiian Bank. In 2011 the foundation and bank contributed more than $2.5 million to 400 non-profit organizations. The foundation funds educational opportunities, access to healthcare, services for youth and children, human service needs and support for the culture and arts.<\/p>\n<h2>Celebrate! 2012 <\/h2>\n<p>The Celebrate! 2012 awards dinner will be on Thursday, October 25 at Honolulu Community College.
