An estimated 80 elementary students from Oʻahu‘s Mālama Honua Public Charter School recently participated in a field trip that included activities on ocean acidification and marine debris with the University of Â鶹´«Ã½ at Mānoa’s School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology.

Funding for the first through fourth graders was made possible through the Native Hawaiian Science and Engineering Mentorship Program‘s Hoʻomānalowai grant, a partnership that provides science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) exploration opportunities.
