University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo campus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Three University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at Hilo<\/a> students will be studying abroad this academic year after receiving the prestigious national Benjamin A. Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship in the amount of $5,000.<\/p>\n

Hiʻinae<\/span> Miller<\/strong> will study at the University of Essex<\/a> in Colchester, United Kingdom. A kinesiology major with an English minor, she will take an array of courses while abroad that will complement her UH<\/abbr> Hilo degrees.<\/p>\n

Ron O’Brien<\/strong> is a student in the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resource Management<\/a> and will be studying at the Uppsala University<\/a> in Uppsala, Sweden. O’Brien is eager to learn the different techniques and approaches to sustainability taught in Sweden.<\/p>\n

Mitchell Sambrano<\/strong> will be headed to Tokyo Gakugei University<\/a> in Tokyo, Japan. His interest in studying the Japanese language and culture started from when he was a student at Honokaʻa<\/span> High School.<\/p>\n
