They can thrill, guide and shape a mutually emergent future that everyone will participate in. Welina Honouliuli will feature cultural practitioners, language scholars, digital storytellers and <span aria-label=\"kahuaina\">kahu&#699;&#257;ina<\/span> stewards who are passionate about the role and purpose of story.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural landscaping&#8211;Ecological rehabilitation practices<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Creating authentic and loving relationships with the earth, sky and water can be practiced anywhere. There will be cultural landscaping sessions with kupuna, cultural practitioners, ethnobotanists, landscaping practitioners and community members who are dedicated to these ideas in unique ways.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span aria-label=\"aina\">&#699;&#256;ina<\/span>-based education&#8211;Learning from land<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hear how experienced educators keep love and care of the land as central operating principles of their teaching and learning. A master\u2019s cohort in land-based indigenous education from the University of Saskatchewan will detail and summarize their final projects in land-based learning.<\/p>\n<p>The <span aria-label=\"aha\">&#699;aha<\/span> organized by <strong>Manulani Aluli-Meyer<\/strong>, <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>\u2019s Konohiki of K&#363;lana o Kapolei, will feature participants and speakers from <abbr>UH<\/abbr> West <span aria-label=\"Oahu\">O&#699;ahu<\/span>, Kumu Pono Associates, Cultural Surveys <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>, Volcanoes National Park, M&#257;lama Learning Center, Palehua, Kamehameha Schools, Purple <span aria-label=\"Maia\">Mai&#699;a<\/span>, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, <abbr title=\"Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation\">HART<\/abbr>, the University of Saskatchewan and others.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is free to attend, but participants are asked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/e\/aha-aina-aloha-tickets-52653913272?aff=ebdssbdestsearch\"><abbr>RSVP<\/abbr> by December 21<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.
