He most recently served as senior advisor to the Department of State\u2019s Bureau of International Organization Affairs in Washington, <abbr title=\"District of Columbia\">D.C.<\/abbr><\/p>\n<p><strong>International music concert<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 11 a.m.&#8211;12 p.m.<\/p>\n<p><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> synthesizer ensemble, directed by Professor Anne Craig Lum, will perform both instrumental and vocal music from Korea, China, Japan, Canada, the Philippines and<br \/>\nthe <abbr title=\"United States\">U.S.<\/abbr><\/p>\n<p><strong>International film screening: <em>Mount Tsurugidake: Ten No Ki<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> 118, 6&#8211;8:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>In 1907, a group of men climbed an unconquered peak in the last unmapped region of Japan.<\/p>\n<h2>Wednesday, November 14<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Tai Chi for arthritis for fall prevention<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 9&#8211;9:45 a.m. <\/p>\n<p>Tai Chi for arthritis is an evidence-based program supported by the Centers for Disease Control targeting seniors to improve balance. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Modern and traditional Japanese songs<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 12:30&#8211;1:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Japanese students and their class tutors will sing, &ldquo;Nada So So,&rdquo; accompanied by Iroha Mochida on sanshin, along with modern Japanese songs and a sanshin performance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Japanese games and illustration contest<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 10:30 a.m.&#8211;1 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Learn about the people and culture of Japan through an illustration contest, along with a display of manga and anime from Japan. <\/p>\n<p><strong>International film screening: <em>A Capella<\/em><\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> 118, 6&#8211;8:30 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Kyoko Noma meets university student Wataru Domoto in the tea cafe Mubansou (A Cappella). Kyoko falls in love with him, but they get involved in an incident that leads to a shocking ending.<\/p>\n<h2>Thursday, November 15<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Memorias Vivas<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 9&#8211;11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Learn about the century-old tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed in the form of a Mexican ofrenda and the powerful symbols involved with D\u00eda de los Muertos\/Day of the Dead.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bryan Tolentino and Herb Ohta, Jr.<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 11&#8211;11:45 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan Tolentino&#8217;s repertoire is a mixture of Hawaiian, contemporary and original songs, blending creativity and diversity with the <span aria-label=\"ukulele.\">&#699;ukulele.<\/span> Along with international recording artist Herb Ohta, Jr., who is considered to be one of today\u2019s most prolific <span aria-label=\"ukulele\">&#699;ukulele<\/span> masters.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> clubs<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 10 a.m.&#8211;1 p.m. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> international club\/ohana: The club fosters intercultural understanding, friendship and student leadership across diverse cultures.<\/li>\n<li><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> Bayanihan (Filipino) club: The club aims to promote friendship among members, develop civic consciousness and participate in promoting Filipino culture.<\/li>\n<li><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> French club: French language students present samples of bread, cheese and other French products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ethnomusicology: A glimpse into world music<\/strong><br \/>\n<span aria-label=\"Ohia\">&#699;Ohi&#699;a<\/span> Cafeteria, 11 a.m.&#8211;1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Try out musical instruments from around the world.
