The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Foundation<\/a> raised $66.9 million to benefit University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> students, faculty, research and programs during the 2011–2012 fiscal year.<\/p>\n

Of the total raised, $16.9 million will go towards student aid, $11.6 million has been earmarked for faculty and academic support, and $10.5 million has been designated for property, buildings and equipment.<\/p>\n

Other areas supported include research, athletics, program enrichment, special programs, chairs and professorships, libraries and public service.<\/p>\n

The money came from a variety of university supporters and constituency groups, with a group labeled “other individuals” contributing $19.4 million and University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> alumni donating $15.4 million. Other donor groups include faculty, staff, parents, students, foundations and corporations.<\/p>\n

The results come on the heels of the conclusion of the UH<\/abbr> Foundation’s comprehensive rebranding initiative. The initiative was spearheaded by a committee comprised of community volunteers and UH<\/abbr> Foundation Board of Trustees members and staff. Olomana Loomis, LLC<\/a> conducted a comprehensive assessment of the foundation’s brand that included research using focus groups.<\/p>\n

“Once we examined the research findings, we worked with renowned designer Kurt Osaki of Osaki Creative to design the new logo,” said Donna Vuchinich<\/strong>, president and CEO of the UH<\/abbr> Foundation. “This initiative will help us better articulate what we do and how we serve our university community. Our goal is to live our brand promise of service, excellence, integrity, trust, teamwork and accountability every day, in everything we do to ensure that we continue to be a strong partner uniting donors’ with the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s aspirations.”<\/p>\n
