The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa Outreach College<\/a> and Gachon University<\/a> in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, are partnering to provide educational opportunities for Gachon students at UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n

Gachon students will earn English language credits for participating in the Outreach College’s New Intensive Courses in English<\/a> (NICE<\/abbr>) 10-week program in the spring and fall semesters. NICE<\/abbr> is known for its emphasis on building essential oral communication skills in English necessary for global communication. Additional groups of Gachon students will participate in shorter, customized programs also offered through Outreach College.<\/p>\n

Signing the two-year memorandum on August 24 were UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa Interim Chancellor David Lassner<\/strong><\/a> and Outreach College Dean William Chismar<\/strong><\/a>, and Gachon President Gil Ya Lee and Dean of the Office of International Affairs Kyoungjin Choi.<\/p>\n

This agreement reflects a continuation of Outreach College’s relationship with Gachon University that first began in 2012. As part of this new agreement, the college is offering two scholarships to qualified Gachon students to attend UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa as visiting international students for one semester.<\/p>\n

“We really value our partnership with Gachon University and look forward to more Gachon students on our campus,” said Judy Ensing<\/strong><\/a>, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa director of international programs<\/a>. “We are very pleased that Gachon students will not only benefit from our English language programs, but also that some will have the opportunity to experience UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa as regular students matriculated in credit courses.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
