University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> students can determine their eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP<\/abbr>) benefits, more commonly known as food stamps, by visiting staffed tables on the second floor of Campus Center<\/a> near Simply Fresh from August through November.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the support program Student Parents at M\u0101noa<\/a> (SP@M<\/abbr>), outreach and enrollment information will be dispensed from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the following Tuesdays and Wednesdays: August 28 and 29, September 18 and 19, October 30 and 31, and November 27 and 28. Look for the SP@M<\/abbr> flag.<\/p>\n

SNAP<\/abbr> provides monthly food stipends to UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa students who are part of a federal work-study program or who meet work and income requirements.<\/p>\n

During the table times at Campus Center, a SNAP<\/abbr> specialist from partner organization Helping Hands Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span><\/a> will help determine eligibility and can offer assistance in filling out an application.<\/p>\n

Students unable to attend the SNAP<\/abbr> outreach events can email gotkids@hawaii.edu<\/a> to request an appointment with a SP@M<\/abbr> staff member.<\/p>\n

SP@M<\/abbr> provides resources and support to students who have children as they pursue their higher education. The program, under the Office of Student Affairs<\/a>, seeks to increase the visibility of and resources for student parents, while advocating for a more family-friendly UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
