The University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span> Center for Gifted and Talented Native Hawaiian Children<\/a> has enriched the educational opportunities for thousands of Hawaiian children and families across the state of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> since 1989. Many have gone on to attend and graduate from UH<\/abbr> campuses and are making positive and significant contributions within their communities.<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> is pleased to announce the full institutionalization\/integration of the N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span> mission and vision into campus programs at UH<\/abbr> Hilo, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, UH<\/abbr> Maui College, Kauaʻi<\/span> Community College and UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span>. These campuses will continue to support and expand that mission and vision to nurture the educational continuum by strengthening the cultural identity of Native Hawaiians while providing multifaceted opportunities for college degree completion and career pathways to prepare them as global leaders.<\/p>\n

Programs offered by the N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span>-Oʻahu will be integrated into the Native Hawaiian Student Services unit within the Â鶹´«Ã½nuiakea<\/span> School of Hawaiian Knowledge at UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa. The N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span>-Maui program will become part of the Office of the Chancellor at UH<\/abbr> Maui College, working within the Office of Institutional Research. N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span>–Kauaʻi<\/span> will become part of the Student Advising Office in the division of Student Affairs at Kauaʻi<\/span> Community College. The N\u0101 Pua Noʻeau<\/span>-Hilo team will be integrated into the K\u012bpuka Native Hawaiian Student Center and Ka Haka ʻUla O Keʻelikolani<\/span>\/College of Hawaiian Language at UH<\/abbr> Hilo. UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span> will be receiving a vacant Na Pua Noʻeau<\/span> position, which will be assigned to provide similar programs in West Oʻahu<\/span>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
