Katrina-Ann R. Kap\u0101ʻanaokal\u0101okeola<\/span> N\u0101koa Oliveira<\/strong><\/a>, a professor in University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a>‘s Kawaihuelani Center for Hawaiian Language<\/a> (KCHL<\/abbr>), and Tammi Oyadomari-Chun<\/strong>, an academic affairs program officer in the UH<\/abbr> Office of the Vice President for Community Colleges<\/a>, have been selected as 2018 Omidyar Fellows.<\/p>\n

Oliveira is the graduate chair and a professor of KCHL<\/abbr>, a unit within the Â鶹´«Ã½nui\u0101kea<\/span> School of Hawaiian Knowledge<\/a>. The 2010 winner of the Chancellor’s Citation for Meritorious Teaching<\/a> holds a PhD<\/abbr> in geography<\/a> from UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, and is in her second year of the Executive MBA<\/abbr> Program<\/a> in the Shidler College of Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Oyadomari-Chun oversees cross-campus enrollment initiatives and coordinates academic and student affairs for the community colleges. Previously at UH<\/abbr>, she led the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> P–20 Partnerships for Education<\/a> (2007–2011). She has a doctorate in educational administration from the University of Southern California and a master in public policy degree from Harvard University.<\/p>\n

The Omidyar Fellows, a program of the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Leadership Forum, launched in 2012 with 13 fellows in its inaugural year. It supports mid-career leaders with the skills and cross-sector relationships necessary to collectively affect societal change. Individuals were selected based on their accomplishments, and their motivation and ability to make transformative change happen in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>.<\/p>\n
