Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s Auliʻi<\/span> Cravalho and cast members of the ʻ\u014dlelo<\/span> Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>-version of Walt Disney Animation Studios\u2019 Moana<\/em> will walk the blue carpet for its premiere at World Oceans Day on Sunday, June 10, at Ko Olina Resort<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The premiere is a part of the resort\u2019s second annual World Oceans Day Celebration, a collaboration with Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Academy for Creative Media System<\/a>, NOAA<\/abbr>, Polynesian Voyaging Society and other community partners. World Oceans Day festivities at Ko Olina will include ocean education and sustainability activities, live entertainment and food for purchase. <\/p>\n

This is the first time a Disney picture has been re-recorded in ʻ\u014dlelo<\/span> Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>. UH<\/abbr>\u2019s Academy for Creative Media System funded and coordinated the re-recording of Moana<\/em> with the goal of sharing the film for educational purposes in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> and beyond. The collaborative production joins faculty and staff from UH<\/abbr> West Oʻahu<\/span><\/a>, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/a> and Honolulu Community College<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The movie stars Cravalho, UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa student Christopher Kaipulaumakaniolono Baker<\/strong> as Maui, Waiʻanae<\/span>\u2019s Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Kelikokauaikekai Hoe as Aliʻi<\/span> Tui, Kalehuapuakeʻula<\/span> Kawaʻa<\/span> as Puna Tala, Kamakakehau Fernandez as Tamatoa, and 24 locally cast ʻ\u014dlelo<\/span> Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> speaking actors and singers.<\/p>\n
