The College of Social Sciences<\/a> (CSS<\/abbr>) at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> and Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Community College<\/a> have collaborated for a new online dual-enrollment opportunity called the Aloha Pathway<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Designed for Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr> students interested in obtaining a social sciences degree from UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa, the partnership allows qualifying students to take online courses that articulate to various CSS<\/abbr> bachelor’s degree programs.<\/p>\n

“The Aloha Pathway is part of the college’s ongoing effort to engage local students and increase opportunities for success throughout their educational career,” said CSS<\/abbr> Dean Denise Eby Konan<\/strong><\/a>. “Our goal is to provide expanded options and curriculum choices for students by providing a wide range of academic opportunities to Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Island students and simplifying the barriers to course articulation and transfer between our programs.”<\/p>\n

Added Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr> Chancellor Rachel Solemsaas<\/strong><\/a>, “This college has been a stepping stone for many students on their way to earning bachelor’s degrees. The Aloha Pathway program gives our students excellent options for completing their bachelor’s degrees online with UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa and creates a more seamless process to help them reach their higher education goals.”<\/p>\n

The online nature of the Aloha Pathway program allows Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr> students to conveniently learn at their own pace through flexible course offerings. Students can currently earn the following degrees through the Aloha Pathway: bachelor’s degree in economics<\/a>, psychology<\/a> or sociology<\/a>; a minor in anthropology<\/a>, economics<\/a>, political science<\/a> or sociology<\/a>; or a certificate in ethnic studies<\/a>, women’s studies<\/a>, peace studies<\/a>, or law and society<\/a>.<\/p>\n
