Building on its longtime support of education in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, American Savings Bank<\/a> (ASB<\/abbr>) has donated $65,000 to the American Savings Bank Endowed Scholarship Fund. The company established this scholarship at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> in 1978. Over the last 40 years, this scholarship has been awarded 55 times.<\/p>\n

“This contribution to our scholarship fund enables us to help even more students achieve their dreams of higher education in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>,” said ASB<\/abbr> President and CEO<\/abbr> Rich Wacker. “We are proud to increase our endowment with the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>, which ultimately supports a stronger workforce for our state.”<\/p>\n

The ASB<\/abbr> Endowed Scholarship supports full-time undergraduate students enrolled at any of the 10 UH<\/abbr> campuses with a minimum GPA<\/abbr> of 3.0 and in need of financial assistance. Preference is given to students from ASB<\/abbr>\u2019s “Bank for Education ʻOhana Schools.”<\/p>\n

UH<\/abbr> Foundation<\/a> President and CEO<\/abbr> Donna Vuchinich<\/strong> said, “We are tremendously grateful to ASB<\/abbr> for all the impactful ways they support our university and our students statewide. From scholarships to program support, ASB<\/abbr> is helping to ensure that our students receive a high quality, relevant education that prepares them for our dynamic workforce. Mahalo!”<\/p>\n
