They visited campus academic programs and services, spoke with current <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> students and professors, and toured some of the facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Special guests visited the campus for the event: <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> County Mayor Harry Kim and <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> 2018 Alumna of the Year, <strong>Lacy Deniz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> 2018 Alumna of the Year<\/h2>\n<p>Deniz graduated from <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr>\u2019s Kona campus in 2012 with an associate of arts in liberal arts. She later earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from the <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\">University of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> at M\u0101noa<\/a> and is now the traffic reporter for <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> News Now Sunrise.<\/p>\n<p>Deniz participated in a panel discussion and helped answer students\u2019 questions about college and how to succeed in college.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening she was honored at an event hosted by <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Hawai\u02bbi<\/span> <abbr>CC<\/abbr> Alumni and Friends.
