Timothy Dye and Pamela Scheffler<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

JABSOM<\/abbr> professor selected as Fulbright Specialist<\/h2>\n

Timothy Dye<\/strong>, professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the John A. Burns School of Medicine<\/a>, has been selected for a Fulbright specialists project in Paris, France, at the world-renowned Institut Pasteur.<\/p>\n

Dye will collaborate with the faculty of the Epidemiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases unit at Institut Pasteur on expanding its global health graduate training program, largely focused on infectious disease in Africa. Dye will also focus on forging new collaborations between the Institut and JABSOM around global public health research and education. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n

Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr> assistant professor to study in India<\/h2>\n

Pamela Y. Scheffler<\/strong>, assistant professor of geography at Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Community College<\/a>, was awarded a Fulbright scholar grant to conduct research at the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment during the 2012–2013 academic year. Scheffler will be studying under an environmental leadership grant from the Fulbright Nehru Program.<\/p>\n

During her time as a Fulbright scholar, Scheffler will conduct a nine-month study of biodiversity patterns in a range of agricultural and agroforestry systems in South India. She will be living in Banglaore, Karnataka with her family from August 2012–May 2013. She is excited about the opportunity to work with novel agroforestry systems and bring this knowledge back to her Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> CC<\/abbr> students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
