In addition to the popular Saturday Farmers' Market, Kapiʻolani<\/span> Community College will host a Tuesday farmers' market beginning June 12.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kapiʻolani<\/span> Community College<\/a> and the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm Bureau Federation<\/a> are launching a three-month pilot farmers’ market on Tuesdays, beginning June 12, from 4 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

The market will be located on the grounds of the Kapiʻolani<\/span> campus in the same location as the popular Saturday Farmers’ Market. The Saturday Farmers’ Market will continue to operate from 7:30 to 11 a.m.<\/p>\n

The pilot project is in response to recent community discussions supporting an alternate farmers’ market.<\/p>\n

“We are excited to provide this alternate market to the community. The Tuesday Market is designed to be smaller than the Saturday Market, allowing the community to shop at a more leisurely pace with the benefit of great food for dinner,” said Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm Bureau Federation President Dean Okimoto.<\/p>\n

Kapiʻolani<\/span> Community College Chancellor Leon Richards<\/strong> sees this pilot project as an opportunity to continue to grow the partnership between the campus and the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm Bureau Federation.<\/p>\n

“The education partnership with the Culinary Institute of the Pacific and the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm Bureau Federation is a model that works well. Both are statewide organizations with a common goal of strengthening Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span>’s farm to table vitality with increased food production and culinary arts professionals,” Richards said.<\/p>\n

The Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Farm Bureau Federation is the owner-operator of four Oʻahu<\/span> Farmers’ Markets, with the principal goal of supporting agriculture in Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> by providing a venue for farmers in the state. In addition to Kapiʻolani<\/span> Community College, other locations include Mililani High School on Sundays, Neal Blaisdell Center on Wednesdays and Kailua Town Center on Thursdays.<\/p>\n
