Petroski will help audiences imagine the future of cities like Honolulu and will cast fresh light on mass transit projects like rail, as well as national infrastructure development as proposed by the Trump administration.<\/p>\n<p>Petroski will also explain how the U.S. became a nation of roads, built around the automobile. Vesic Professor of Civil Engineering at Duke University. A specialist in innovation, infrastructure and design analysis, Petroski is the author of 75 refereed articles and 19 books, including <em>To Engineer Is Human<\/em> and <em>The Evolution of Useful Things<\/em>.
