The many layers of <span aria-label=\"Hawaii\">Âé¶¹´«Ã½<\/span>\u2019s culture are peeled back as Kenney and the guest journey to various communities from which the food came, including those in various countries and states. In doing so, food is shown as a foundation for ties among families, generations, and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>Five production crew members&#8212;<strong>Terrence Nahina<\/strong> (editor), <strong>Nevada Jones<\/strong> (sound), <strong>Elliana Moore<\/strong> (assistant camera), <strong>Chris Ahn<\/strong> (camera operator), and <strong>Kali Kasashima<\/strong> (offline editor, season one) and <strong>Todd Fink<\/strong>&#8212;are graduates of <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa\u2019s Creative Media program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ty Sanga<\/strong>, Family Ingredients\u2019 director, is a graduate of the <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa ethnic studies program and is a part-time lecturer for <abbr title=\"Academy for Creative Media\">ACM<\/abbr>. <strong>Megan Tomino<\/strong>, another production member, also is a graduate of <abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.<\/p>\n<p>This season two <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> West O\u02bbahu students joined the team as interns&#8212;<strong>Nakoa Camvel<\/strong> and <strong>Kevin Bechayda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Giugni\u2019s vision for the show has succeeded, with the first season being picked up by 93 percent of PBS stations nationally.
