After being rejected from <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa right out of high school, he began on a journey that has no doubt played an important role in the person he is today. Hear more about what inspired him to get into Hawaiian studies, going from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kapiolani.hawaii.edu\/\"><span aria-label=\"Kapiolani\">Kapi&#699;olani<\/span> Community College<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/manoa.hawaii.edu\/\"><abbr>UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa<\/a> and the story behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.namahoe.org\/\"><em>N\u0101m\u0101hoe<\/em><\/a>, <span aria-label=\"Kauai\">Kaua&#699;i<\/span>\u2019s own twin-hulled voyaging canoe.<\/p>\n<p>Chun received his bachelor of arts and master of education degrees from <abbr title=\"University of Hawaii\">UH<\/abbr> M\u0101noa.
