David Haymer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

DNA<\/abbr> expert and Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> Innocence Project<\/a> consultant David Haymer<\/strong><\/a> will discuss new methods of DNA<\/abbr> analysis as part of the Community Forum in Chemistry series<\/a> at Windward Community College<\/a> on Thursday, September 14, 1–2 p.m. at Hale ʻImiloa<\/span> 111. <\/p>\n

Haymer, who obtained his doctoral degree from Purdue University, is a professor of cell and molecular biology<\/a> at the University of Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> at M\u0101noa John A. Burns School of Medicine<\/a>. With more than 25 years of experience with DNA<\/abbr> analysis, he is the DNA<\/abbr> consultant of the Â鶹´«Ã½<\/span> chapter of the Innocence Project.<\/p>\n

The Innocence Project is a non-profit legal organization aimed to exonerate the wrongfully convicted through the use of new DNA<\/abbr>-based methods. DNA<\/abbr> evidence is now commonly introduced in criminal investigations by both prosecuting and defense attorneys.<\/p>\n

The forum is free and open to the public. Parking is free.<\/p>\n
